Hey everyone, I am so exited this is my last post of 2010!, and what a better way to end it then with a Chades Challenge for the ever popular Pixar animator Austin Madison! I Finally had the chance to meet Austin in person at the Super Big Micro Gallery held at Gallery Nucleus. He is a really great guy and I hope I have the chance to work with him in the future.

This weeks challenge was Claustrophobic Kelpie and I got to say I had to much fun with this challenge! There is nothing I love more than creatures from mythos, plus I got to learn a few things about what a kelpie is. According to Arthur Spiderwick's Field Guide to the Fantastical World Around You illustrated by the amazing Tony Diterlizzi, a kelpie is a ghastly water spirt that assumes the form of a grayish black horse. The kelpie then devours anyone who attempts to ride it. Also from various other sources on the web I learned, that they have sticky seal skin, also take the form of beautiful girls, and are part of celtic myth.

Above is my take on a Kelpie that feels if though the life saver stuck around her neck is closing in around her. The illustration where done in water color, prism pencil, and prism marker
I hope everyone enjoys, and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

This is to remind everyone out there who scored big on Halloween and came out with bucket fulls of candy, to cough some of that stash up to those less fortunate Trick-or-Treaters. Because if you decide to eat it all yourself there will be pay-backs :).

Hahaha anyway this is my submission to this weeks Chades Challenge. Since last week Austin Madison has been posting up some crazy awesome Count Chocula drawings so please go and take a look each and everyone of them they are hilarious I promise.

Master Chi

Hey Everyone...I have officially made the move to LA. Who knows what will come after this, anyway I wanted to give you a bit of an update, just something for you to look at first off I have a action pose of a a character I created for a portfolio prompt I did for CTN. His name is Master Chi and he is a Chinese warrior who was almost reincarnated as a bug but something happened during the process. This half bug half human was brought back to earth to prevent the 2nd coming of Genghis Khan! This was a pose of him I couldn't fit in to my CTN portfolio.

Also I wanted to post this sweet set of TUMULTUOUS GARGOYLES that my friend TOM SOULEN drew up for Austim Madison's Chades Challenge

Time Tailor Teusday

Hey everyone this is my 50th post!!!...and I wanted to start something new. Every Tuesday I am going to post one image from a story I have been developing called The Time Tailor. Instead of telling you the story I want to let the paintings do the talking that way every week you get a new piece of the puzzle. It should be kind of a challenge, but I think it will be really fun. So the first image is the main character CLoWy. For those of you who went to scad with me you might remember that name from a character I was designing for one of my old friends Dixie. She didn't care for it too much, but I always thought it had some charm so now I am using it! Thanks for watching and keep checking in for more updates!

Wedding Paintings

This is some watercolor painting I did for a friend. She is getting married and wanted to have these drawings done of the both her and her future husband. Sorry, the size of these paintings where much to big for my scanner, so I had to resort to a photo instead. I am off to LA this week, I hope things go well. I have some people I am going to meet and visit, Maybe I will come back with a job (fingers crossed)! If not I guess I will just keep doing what I do.

Snow Maiden

Well here is a sneak peak into what I have been working on until my cintique gets fixed. Which better be soon because I have got some animations to do. Anyway this is an early concept for Lexy Poston's senior film. This is my painting over a tracing of her drawing. Recently I have been working hard to build my folio and character designs for her film have been providing me with material to work with. Doing things in traditional media has been tons of fun really helping to get back in to light and color through paint.
